Ludy Obando | Huwarang OFW 2017 Family Nominee

After realizing that her husband prioritizes his vices more than her, Ludy Obando’s love for her husband started to turn cold. Their constant and worsening exchanges of arguments prompted Ludy to leave her husband and go abroad.

She went to Hong Kong and worked as a domestic helper to get away from her husband, but she kept constant communication with him who eventually worked abroad, leaving their children in the care of their relatives.

Ludy remained hopeful that their relationship as husband and wife will be restored. But her world crumbled when she received the news that her husband was caught doing illegal activities in the country where he worked.

Confused and hopeless as to what to do, Ludy turned to God. She continually received bad news from her husband. Topping this up with the maltreatment and discrimination she was experiencing abroad, Ludy decided to remain tough and continue with her job. She focused on working for her family and prioritizing God in her life.

Because she trusted in God, Ludy received the strength she needed to go on. She obeyed what was stated in Matthew 16:33 that says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Although Ludy and her husband were not able to get back together as her husband died from a disease, Ludy was able to provide for her children who finished their education. She also found comfort and wholeness in Jesus Christ.
