Facing Family Problems Right Now? Here are 3 Ways to Overcome
Tough challenges in life battered the Macato family ever since. They had to live in extreme poverty, got separated from each other, and go through a loved one’s passing. As if it was not enough, a deadly typhoon wreaked havoc in their household in 2013.
When typhoon Yolanda made its landfall in 2013, as featured in CBN Asia’s Holy Week special Tanikala presents Kublihan, the Macato family lost everything. This is just in addition to the extreme hardships they have been facing.
How do you rise up from grave challenges like these?
Here are 3 ways to overcome dreadful struggles that were taken from the story of the Macatos.
- Forgive generously, love unconditionally.
When their other siblings got separated and turned over to an orphanage, Crizalyn Macato took the blame.
Just as storms in life are real, so are family conflicts. However, isn’t it better to mend relationships than give up on them?
When you have a conflict with somebody, ask God to help you love and forgive just as He does.
It may be hard, but it will be worth it.
Can you imagine how awesome it would be if parents and children would extend God’s love through forgiveness, and encouragement?
The storms in life are real, and so is hope.
- Believe that God can make all things new
Sometimes, tragedies can make us feel like we’re at a dead end.
Remember, “God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.” (Deuteronomy 3:30)
Seasons change and there will always be a season of testing your faith.
The good thing? There’s also a season of building and mending! (Ecclesiastes 3:3,7).
In God’s process of making your ‘all things new,’ pray that He would reveal Himself to you.
- Pray as a family.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Opening to each other and bringing all your burdens to God through prayers allow yourselves to experience His mighty works.
Even before the winds become too heavy to endure, prayer is a strong foundation that withstands all storms.
At the end of the day, troubles go away but His steadfast love for you and your family remains forever. Never stop believing that restoration is possible!

In everything give thanks, Danilo. In Jesus name. Amen!
