Courage in Fight Against COVID: Support Pandemic-hit Families through Your Giving!

Nearly 3 months have passed since the government-imposed quarantine started yet the battle with COVID-19 continues.

While some communities are starting to ease up and navigate the new normal, there are families and individuals who are still stuck and are still experiencing difficulties brought by the pandemic.

Your giving in the fight against COVID, through the CBN Asia humanitarian arm – Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, continues to support and provide relief to vulnerable people affected by the crisis.

Raul Policarpio is one of the thousands who received relief through your support. As someone who has been undergoing dialysis for the past 14 years, the quarantine made it more difficult for his family to survive each passing day.

Raul and his wife Lorna had to stop selling vegetables while his children lost their jobs. “I have to go to the hospital 3 times a week, but our situation now became more difficult as my children also lost their jobs due to the lockdown,” Raul lamented.

The 52-year old father and his wife Lorna were among the dialysis patients who received food packs, hygiene kits, and devotional books when Operation Blessing visited the National Kidney and Transplant Institute where Raul is undergoing dialysis.

We are thankful for the blessing that you have given to the dialysis patients. It brings joy knowing that there are individuals who genuinely care for us. Thank you so much!” Lorna expressed.

Your support also helped lessen the burden being felt by Jessica Paculanang, whose husband works as a construction worker. She, too, received food packs, hygiene kits, and devotional books that she can share with her family in Cavite.

“When quarantine beganmy husband lost his job. It was ‘no work, no pay’ for him. I was worried because we did not know where to get food. It was difficult especially to see my children starving. Nowadayswe only rely on the relief goods given to us. I am thankful to Operation Blessing and to all its donors for the groceries you gave us. Thank you so much! Jessica exclaimed.

Apart from the families of Raul and Jessica, Operation Blessing continued providing much-needed Personal Protective Equipment, food packs, hygiene kits, and devotional books to hospitals, frontliners, churches, and other vulnerable communities – who also came to know the saving love of God through encouraging words and prayers offered by the team!

From providing basic needs to touching lives, your giving impacts our kababayans amidst this challenging time. May you continue to give with courage and compassion, and trust God that He would use you as a vessel of hope to those who are in need!

“For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.” (2 Corinthians 8:12 NIV)
